Vanished Places
Searching for I can’t remember what, I just found a set of negatives, mistreated by several moves, showing how it was the Ayllon mountains villages at the north of Guadalajara. These images would be between 15 and 20 years old and since then (in fact since the mid 60's) the villages have suffered a strong depopulation, most of them even lost their regular bus lines because there it was no demand.
Buscando no sé qué he encontrado estos negativos maltratados por las mudanzas, de la sierra de Ayllón en el Norte de Guadalajara. Las fotos deben tener entre quince y veinte años cuando estos pueblos sufrían de una fuerte despoblación e incluso muchos de ellos habían perdido sus servicios de línea regular por falta de demanda.
Nothing of this exists today, the village is still there, but it has gained population, filled with new buildings, rural hotels and restaurants. Most of them are built from black stone ( a local variety called black architecture) typical of this area, but now they bring the slate from Leon. When I get back there I always have the feeling that I am in a mixture of my memories and a theme park where everything is “as it was, but with everything for the traveller”. The good side is that these villages haven’t been abandoned, some even have got their administrative independence and the bus lines came back.
As a curious note, even the film I used for it, the Agfa APX 25 hasn’t survived.
Nada de esto existe hoy, el pueblo sigue en su sitio, pero ha crecido bastante; todo se ha llenado de casas rurales, nuevas construcciones y restaurantes que en su mayoría han respetado la arquitectura negra típica de la zona, pero eso sí, con pizarra traída de León. Cuando vuelvo por allí me da la impresión de encontrarme en una especie de mezcla entre mis recuerdos y un parque temático en que todo es “igual que fue, pero con todas las comodidades para el visitante”. El lado bueno es que al menos los pueblos no han desaparecido, algunos incluso han dejado de ser barrios de los vecinos mayores y los autobuses de línea han vuelto.
Lo más curioso es que ni siquiera la película que usé, Agfa APX 25, existe hoy.

Es una suerte tener fotos de esas guardadas desde hace mucho tiempo. Cuando las sacas alucinas, son preciosas e irrepetibles, nada desentona, aunque tampoco es perfecto. Haber si desempolvas más...

its a nice price for great quality..dont get that very often these days..rolleipan 25 costs $16.- here..a roll..perhaps we should leave the cities behind and go back to the country. greetings dietmar
en la 'sociedad del vértigo' parece que todo lo que tenga más de un año esté obsoleto... será por la macdonalización de la sociedad y su obsolescencia programada.
