Fomapan Creative 200 review

At the end of February Mark Ostrowski
from FotoR3 kindly sent me some
Fomapan
Creative 200 samples. I delayed the trial a bit because I wasn't
too excited due a bad experience I had back in the 80's, tempted by
cheap eastern films. At that time I ended up regretting their poor, if any, quality
control. Luckily things seems to have changed a lot, and this film
offers high quality at fair low cost.

Creative 200 , y tardé un tanto en decidirme a probarla receloso
por mi experiencia anterior que se remontaba a mediados de los 80
cuando tentado por el bajo precio, compré unos cuantas películas
procedentes de la europa del este cuyo control de calidad acabó
dejando bastante que desear. Afortunadamente las cosas parecen haber
cambiado y esta película ofrece muy buenos resultados a bajo coste.

Nostalgia

Valentín Sama calls for opinions among his readers over some public declarations of the Eastman Kodak’s president. I don’t have any sympathy to Kodak beyond two concrete products: HC-110 and Tri-X. Some time ago I was used to the Kodachrome 25 and 64, just until Kodak itself fancied to complicate their user’s life up to they give up (clever strategy to close their own labs, the only ones who develop their propietary process).
Nowadays there is no Kodachrome 25 anymore, users of 64 deserve a medal for their patience, and, by the way, give a try to another films. :)
Thinking about readers reflections I drove a bit melancholic and rescued an old Kodachrome roll among other pieces of junk I keep and I call collections. I hope that at least someone recall good memories from its pictures.
Someday, more of those craps
Valentín Sama pide las opiniones de sus lectores sobre unas declaraciones del presidente de Eastman Kodak. Yo no tengo simpatías por Kodak más allá de dos productos concretos, el HC-110 y la Tri-X. Antes, además usaba Kodachrome 25 y 64 hasta que la propia Kodak puso las cosas tan difíciles para usarla que simplemente no compensaba (astuta estrategia para ir cerrando laboratorios de su proceso propietario).
Ahora ya no hay Kodachrome 25, y los que sigan usando la 64 merecen una medalla a la paciencia, y de paso probar otras películas. :)
Al hilo de las reflexiones de los lectores me ha entrado una cierta melancolía, y he rescatado un viejo rollo de Kodachrome de entre las basurilla que guardo y llamo colecciones. Espero que a alguien, al menos, esas imágenes le traigan buenos recuerdos.
Otro día, más de esas basurillas.

La Nikonos es una cámara distinta en muchos aspectos.
Se diseñó para ser compacta y resistente, y ese
compromiso determina su manejo y aspecto, como el método
de disparo y selección de velocidad integrados en la
palanca de arrastre, la carga de la película, así como
el contador de exposiciones en la base de la cámara, o
los mandos laterales de los objetivos. El resultado es
una cámara extraña de manejar para quien se acerca a
ella por primera vez, pero tremendamente efectiva una
vez que nos hemos habituado a ella.
Mi objetivo en este artículo es dar una visión
general de la Nikonos, así como una serie de notas al
estilo de las FAQ para comenzar a sacar partido a esta
cámara casi inmediatamente.
The Nikonos is a special camera in many ways. It was
designed to be compact and tought, and this commitment
determines their handling and looks, things like the
shutter release and speed selector integrated over the
film-advance lever, the film loading procedure, the
frame counter located at the bottom side, or the side
knobs in lenses to adjust their settings. The result its
a camera with a strange handling for the novice, but
terrifically effective when we get used to it.
My goal with this article is to give a general, but
concise, view about the Nikonos's nuts and bolts, as
well as several notes in the FAQ style to help anyone to
get started succesfully almost inmediately with it.

Acaba de llegar mi M6 del servicio técnico. Después de haber oído mucho acerca de lo mal que funciona Solms, es de justicia hacer un comentario positivo cuando los servicios funcionan mejor de lo esperado...
My M6 has arrived from servicing. After having enough ear bashing about how bad its the Solms customer service, I find fully justified to make a good comment when everything works more than fine...
